Meet Anthony “AJ” O'Deay | Vantage Plastics Team

We are delighted to introduce Anthony O'Deay, known to the Vantage Plastics Family of Companies as "AJ." Throughout this article, he will be referred to as AJ. AJ has recently taken on a significant role as the Injection Molding Manufacturing Manager with our Lotis Technologies group.

AJ is a graduate of Ferris State University, where he earned a degree in Plastics Engineering. He began his career as a Molding Manager at a tier-one injection molding company near Nashville, Tennessee, where he worked for over four years. Born and raised in Bay City, AJ was eager to return home. When he learned about Vantage Plastics' acquisition of a new facility on Wilder Road in Bay City, with plans to integrate injection molding capabilities, he seized the opportunity and joined our team. He has been with us for approximately a year and a half, contributing to the establishment of the facility and Lotis Technologies. The newly remodeled facility now houses ten high-pressure machines and one large low-pressure injection molding machine, and production is ramping up.

Reflecting on his experience with Vantage Plastics and Lotis Technologies, AJ says, “This is a great company with a family-oriented feel. It has the intimacy of a small company but the expansive capabilities of a large-scale plastics processor. The transformation of the Bay City facility, which had been vacant for years, has been remarkable. I've received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the community.”

Now that the injection molding machines are operational, AJ remarks, “With Lotis Technologies, we are opening a new chapter. The possibilities are endless, especially with our 1,500-ton low-pressure machine capable of producing 300-pound shots, allowing us to manufacture exceptionally large parts. Since we are a custom molder, I love the fact that every day is different and stimulating.”

AJ attended John Glenn High School in Bay City, where he met his high school sweetheart, Breanne Bell. The couple, who have been together for around fourteen years, are now engaged and set to marry on August 9th of this year. Congratulations, AJ and Breanne! Breanne is an occupational therapist specializing in hand therapy. With their roots in Bay City and strong family ties, AJ and Breanne enjoy the support of their extended family in the area.

Outside of work, AJ says with a smile, “I do whatever my fiancée, Breanne, wants to do.” Besides being a dutiful partner, AJ played rugby at Ferris State and continues to play with a men's rugby team in Bay City. The team competes in interstate matches and tournaments with other Michigan cities. Living near Saginaw Bay, AJ also enjoys boating with family and occasionally lends a hand at Moe’s Southwest Grill, a local restaurant owned by members of Breanne’s family. Asked about a favorite food, AJ mentioned “Nashville Hot Chicken,” a double-battered chicken that he acquired a liking for while living in the Nashville area. As a member of the Vantage Plastics/Lotis Technologies Team, Anthony O’Deay is clearly helping us fulfill the Vantage Plastics’ Mission of Forming Better Lives, Forming Solutions, and Forming Sustainable Futures.
