Meet Terri Marx-Schnetzler
Terri has worked at Vantage Plastics for about three years and currently holds the position of Accounts Payable Specialist. She previously worked in the financial services field holding positions with banks and insurance companies. She has been married to her husband Robert for twenty-one years and has four siblings.
At age thirteen Terri began to develop an affinity for horses. This grew into a passion as her deep curiosity led her to learn more and more about horses. She began entering competitions and showing horses in Dressage. It is often referred to as the highest expression of horse training where horse and rider are expected to perform from memory a series of predetermined movements. As Terri has studied best practices in training, she has become fascinated with the mind of horses. Terri states- “I love horses and the way they think, which is very different than us. Since they can be prey, they have a heightened sense of intuition, awareness, and sensitivity.” There has been a long history between humankind and horses working together and having significant impacts on civilization.
Most recently Terri’s passion has led her to become involved with the Pegasus Springs Therapeutic Riding Center located in National City, Michigan its mission is “to provide Hope, Healing, Growth, and Respite to children and adults with cognitive, physical, and emotional disabilities within the entire Northeast Michigan area utilizing equine-assisted activities and therapies in a safe, peaceful, and professional environment.”
Terri has been involved with Pegasus Springs since August of 2020 and focuses on a subset called Huron Heroes and Horses. Her concentration is with U.S. Military Veterans to help them re-enter civilian life, especially those that may be suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). We thank Terri and her horse LTC Buckingham for their Servant Hearts and for helping to form Better Lives.
